Kenny Miller's agent has told BBC Scotland that there has been no contact from Rangers about the possibility of the Derby striker returning to Ibrox.

David Baldwin said he had not spoken to the Glasgow side about such a move, and the Rams say they have also not had any contact with Rangers.

But Baldwin said the former Celtic star has a number of potential suitors.

"At the moment there are a few clubs interested in Kenny, but there has been no approach from Rangers," he said.

Miller has scored six goals in 30 games for the Pride Park side this season. And having had a previous stint at Rangers, Baldwin says hints of a return are just speculation.

"Obviously with Kenny having played for Rangers before, some people have played on that to suggest a return there," he said

KENNY Miller's return to Rangers has moved closer with the news that the Derby County striker is in talks with the Ibrox club.
Derby chairman Adam Pearson confirmed both clubs have had initial dialogue about a possible transfer.

"We've had early discussions with Rangers and talks are ongoing," he explained. "But there has been no asking price either set or met."

However, it is understood the transfer is further down the road than the Midlands club will publicly admit.

Derby will not stand in the way of the Scotland striker, who is trying to thrash out terms with the Govan club.

County expect the former Rangers striker, who also played for Celtic after moving from Ibrox to Wolves, to complete a controversial move back to Glasgow before the end of the week.

The prospect of Miller's possible return has split the Ibrox support.

The Scotland striker played for Rangers under Dick Advocaat in season 2000-01. But he failed to pin down a regular first-team spot and, after a spell at Wolves, he signed for Celtic in 2006, where he again lasted only one season before moving to Derby.

Miller contributed only four league goals from 20 starts for Celtic, the first of which came against Rangers at Parkhead and broke an eight-game barren run in his club's colours.

In the closing weeks of last season, as the rumour about Miller returning to Ibrox picked up pace, Rangers fans voiced their displeasure about Miller in song, most vociferously during the Scottish Cup final win over Queen of the South at Hampden. Source - Scotsman

Derby chairman Adam Pearson expects Kenny Miller to seal his return to Rangers next week.

The clubs have agreed a fee thought to be close to £2million for the Scotland striker.

The former Celtic player's return is unpopular with large sections of the Rangers support.

But the 28-year-old excelled under Rangers boss Walter Smith when the pair worked together with the national team and Miller recently expressed his desire to be reunited with Smith.

Rams chairman Pearson has confirmed a deal has been agreed between both clubs with the move set to be finalised next week.

"The two clubs have agreed a deal and we are reasonably happy with the package, so it is now down to Kenny to sort things out with Rangers," Pearson told the Scottish Daily Express"I don't envisage any problems because Kenny is keen to go to Rangers and Rangers are keen to sign him.

"We have had one firm offer and three serious enquiries about signing him but Kenny told us he wasn't interested because he wants to go to Rangers." Source - Sky Sports News

KENNY MILLER should be a Rangers player again within the next 48 hours.

Record Sport understands the former Celtic striker's agent will jet into Glasgow tomorrow to thrash out the terms of the contract that will see the striker cross the Old Firm divide for a second time.

Rangers have already agreed a £1.6million fee with Derby for the Scotland international and negotiations over his personal terms are expected to be completed quickly.

That means Miller is likely to be confirmed as Walter Smith's first summer signing by tomorrow night and the player could be unveiled as soon as Wednesday. Source - Daily Record

Kenny Miller could complete his return to Rangers from Derby on Friday.

The 28-year-old is expected to have a medical on Friday morning and could seal the move later in the day, making him the first player to leave Rangers and have a spell with Celtic before returning to Ibrox.

The Scotland striker left the Gers in 2001 to join Wolves and returned to Glasgow in 2006 with Celtic before moving to Derby last August.

Miller will also be reunited with Rangers manager Walter Smith and his assistant Ally McCoist, with whom he enjoyed success at international level.

"It's getting so close now and I'm thrilled at the prospect of working with Walter and Ally again after our time with Scotland," Miller told the Scottish Sun.

The proposed move has not been popular among a large number of Rangers fans, however, after Miller scored his first Celtic goal in their Old Firm win over Rangers in September 2006.

Miller then returned to the English Premier League last summer in a £3million move to newly-promoted Derby.

But the former Hibs trainee was unable to prevent the Rams being relegated with the lowest-ever Premier League points tally, scoring four goals in 30 league games.

Miller has now chosen the prospect of UEFA Champions League football with last season's Uefa Cup finalists ahead of the Coca-Cola Championship. Source - Sky Sports News
