Swedish defender Petter Hansson has admitted he would be interested in a move to Rangers.

Rangers are reported to be tracking the Heerenveen ace who is available on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Hansson looks set to leave Heerenveen and a number of clubs from France and Italy are believed to be monitoring his situation.

The 30-year-old is aware of the interest and admits he would consider a move to Rangers if they came calling.

"Rangers would be a nice club to play for," Hansson told the Daily Record.

"There is interest from Italy, too, but it is difficult for me to say too much until I hear things.

"Everybody knows about Rangers, they are a big club, one of the main sides in Europe.

"Celtic did well in the Champions League this season and that says something about the standard and strength of the league in Scotland." Source - Sky Sports News

Rangers face stiff competition for Heerenveen defender Petter Hansson.

The Sweden international was watched by Gers boss Walter Smith against Northern Ireland on Wednesday night.
