Palermo striker Andrea Caracciolo's agent claims the targetman is a target for Rangers.

The 25-year-old twice-capped Italy international is set to leave his Serie A club this summer.

He has had a lean season in front of goal, scoring just three league goals, but agent Andrea D'Amico insists Caracciolo will be the subject of plenty of interest.

D'Amico told Teleradiostereo, an Italian radio station: "Caracciolo's exit from Palermo is practically inevitable.

"Andrea has interest not only in Italy, but in England from Tottenham, Everton and others, and in Scotland there is Rangers, who would like him as their centre-forward."

Former Brescia man Caracciolo, who is 6ft 4in tall, could be seen as a suitable replacement for Croatian frontman Dado Prso. Prso will leave Rangers this summer after failing to make a full recovery from knee problems.

Rangers have already signed a new forward for next season, with Falkirk's Alan Gow committing to a pre-contract agreement which will see him become a Light Blues player, and have been linked with several strikers including Blackburn's Jason Roberts and Southampton's Grzegorz Rasiak. Andrea Caracciolo's agent claims Everton, Tottenham and Rangers are all interested in his charge.

The 25-year-old Italian international has struggled to impress with Palermo this term and is now being strongly linked with a move away from Sicily.

Andrea D'Amico claims that the player has already informed Palermo of his desire to leave at the end of the season and that a host of clubs are keen to secure his signature.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool have scouted Caracciolo closely in recent seasons, but they look unlikely to renew their interest.

Now Everton, Spurs and Rangers are said to be very keen on the target-man - who has two full caps to his name.

"The goodbye is practically certain," D'Amico told Teleradiostereo

"The player has showed this intention and I think also the club officials have no doubts about this.

"He has interest not only in Italy, but in England, for example there are Tottenham and Everton, whilst in Scotland there are Glasgow Rangers who would like him as their striker." Source - Sky Sports News
