Flavio Roma is reportedly a target for new Ibrox supremo Paul Le Guen

Le Guen is waiting for a contract decision from Ronald Waterreus while Stefan Klos has been ruled out for up to four months with a shoulder injury sustained while biking in Switzerland.

That leaves him potentially short on options between the posts.

31-year-old Roma is well-known to Le Guen as he currently plays for French side Monaco whom he joined in 2001 from Piacenza in his homeland. Source - FansFC

Reports emanating from the French press continue to link Rangers with a move for Flavio Roma.

New Gers chief Paul Le Guen is a known admirer of Roma from his spell at the helm of Lyon and is believed to be weighing up a bid.

Roma has intimated that he will wait to see how Monaco's pre-season preparations pan out, in terms of acquisitions, before announcing his intentions.

While Roma has been linked with a move to Ibrox, German goalkeeper Stefan Klos has made it clear he is not interested in accepting a pay-off to leave.

Klos is one of the players earmarked for a departure, by Le Guen, but he is reluctant to accept anything less than the £1.4 million he is to earn in wages for the final year of his deal.

''We have no reason and no wish to negotiate,'' Klos' agent Tony Preuss told The Herald.

''He will prepare as normal and return for pre-season training determined to be the number one next season.''

Also thought to be on their way out of Glasgow, if settlements can be agreed, are Olivier Bernard and Jose Karl Pierre-Fanfan. Source - Sky Sports
