PAUL LE GUEN has begun his search for a new right back as Fernando Ricksen eyes a swift exit from Ibrox.

Reports in France today say Rangers could target Lyon full back Anthony Reveillere, who has handed in a transfer request at Stade Gerland.

Ricksen's six-year rollercoaster in Scotland looks at an end after he was sent home from South Africa in disgrace.

The 29-year-old had an altercation with a stewardess on the flight here on Saturday night. He is now back in Glasgow and heading for talks with his agent, Henk van Ginkel, over his future.

There has been no statement from Rangers, but he is likely to be transfer listed. Several clubs in the Premiership and Spain expressed an interest in the Dutchman before his new deal at Rangers 18 months ago.

Ricksen is resigned to the fact he's played his final game in a Rangers strip. He could yet face a fine for his comments yesterday, when he said Le Guen wanted to get rid of him even before this incident.
Ricksen is one of Rangers' top earners on £20,000-a-week. Le Guen will use that salary - and a transfer fee - on an experienced full back. Source - Evening Times

He has been mentor to Reveillere, 26, after rearing him into the first team at Rennes in 1998. He took him to Lyon for £4m in 2003 after the player had a six-month loan spell at Valencia.

RANGERS boss Paul Le Guen is weighing up a move to be reunited for a third time with French star Anthony Reveillere.

French international Reveillere will not play second fiddle to rising star Francois Clerc at Le Guen's former club.

Le Guen has been Reveillere's mentor during his career after rearing him into the first team at Rennes in 1998. Source - Evening Times
