ITALIAN reports say Rangers have failed in a bid to take Roma striker Shabani Nonda on loan and may have to pay £2m if they want to sign him.

Former Rangers boss Alex McLeish failed to tempt Nonda from Monaco at the start of last season, and he joined Roma instead on a three-year deal.

The Congolese star was reared by Paul Le Guen at Rennes before joining Monaco, where he struck up a very formidable partnership with Dado Prso. Source - Evening Times
