PAUL LE GUEN looks set to end the Rangers careers of Stefan Klos and Ronald Waterreus by making a £1.5million move for Swiss keeper Fabio Coltorti.

The incoming Ibrox boss has begun moves to recruit the Grasshoppers star after failing to land Craig Gordon from Hearts and Nantes' Mickael Landreau.

Coltorti, 25, made his debut for Switzerland against Scotland at Hampden in February and will be in their World Cup squad.

Record Sport understands he is keen on a switch to Glasgow and his arrival would almost certainly spell the end for Klos and the out-of-contract Waterreus.

Rangers are in pole position to land the 6ft 6in keeper but face stiff competition from Werder Bremen. The Bundesliga outfit watchedColtorti playforGrasshoppers againstFC Zurich lastWednesday and had talks with him after thematch.

But agent Marcel Schmid last night confirmed Rangers' interest and indicated the player would be delighted to link up with Le Guen.

Schmid said: "Rangers would be perfect for Fabio.Physically he's more than able for British football.

"Working with one of Europe's best coachesis a big attraction."

Coltorti is second choice with the nationalteam but there isa campaign inSwitzerlandto havehiminstalled as No.1 before the World Cup.
