UGO EHIOGU should be unveiled as a Rangers player on Monday - but Walter Smith's hopes of landing Lee McCulloch are fading fast.

And the Ibrox boss is also bracing himself for an offer from Paul Le Guen for midfielder Jeremy Clement which is expected to arrive in the next 24 hours.

Former England defender Ehiogu is on the verge of finalising a severance package with Middlesbrough which will allow him to move north as a free agent.

Smith had originally hoped to have the one-time £8million defender in his squad for the SPL trip to Dunfermline on Sunday but the protracted pay-off talks have thwarted that plan.

Now Ehiogu is expected to report to Murray Park on Monday to join up with Smith's rebuilding programme - but Scotland man McCulloch's dream move is unlikely to go through. Source - Daily Record
