Rangers will not be pursuing French striker Jean-Claude Darcheville, according to the player's agent. Karim Djaziri told BBC Sport on Sunday that he expected Rangers to make an offer for the 30-year-old in January. But, speaking to The Herald, he said: "Jean-Claude will not go to Rangers. It's a little disappointing because he respects (Ibrox manager) Alex McLeish. "You will have to ask them for the full reasons but perhaps they have decided to build with younger players." Earlier this week, Darcheville, who is out of contract at Bordeaux in the summer, claimed to have rejected a move to Rangers in the close season. Source- BBC Sport

French striker Jean-Claude Darcheville is keen on a possible January move to Rangers after rejecting the Ibrox club during the close season. "Last summer, I said no to the Rangers offer," Darcheville told The Herald. "But things have changed. "I am very happy at Bordeaux. But when you have such opportunities, you can't always say no." The 30-year-old's agent told BBC Sport on Sunday that he expected Rangers to make an offer for the player. Karim Djaziri said: "I spoke to Alex McLeish after the Champions League game against Inter Milan and I expect an offer for him in January. "He is wanted by another big club in Europe and will decide between them." Source - BBC Sport

Rangers are reported to be lining up a bid for Bordeaux striker Jean-Claude Darcheville.

The Frenchman's agent has confirmed that Alex McLeish has been in touch and there may well be further developments when the January transfer window opens.

"Rangers are interested in Jean-Claude and so are many other teams," Karim Djaziri told the Sunday Mail.

"Alex McLeish has been in touch with us asking to be kept kept informed. Jean-Claude has known Alex for many years and so have I. Alex tried to sign him for Hibs.

"Jean-Claude wants to go to Rangers and wants to work with Alex. He also wants to play alongside Dado Prso.

"Jean-Claude is a lightning quick player and will do well for Rangers. It's up to Rangers and Bordeaux to sort out a transfer fee if the move is to go through next month, if not he can go for free in the summer."

Darcheville had a brief spell in the United Kingdom when he played for Nottingham Forest in 1998 but his stay was cut short as he tried to come to terms with the tragic death of his wife and children in a car crash. Source - Sky Sports
