Rangers have beaten Newcastle United, Stuttgart & Celtic to a season long loan deal for Manchester City winger Vladimir Weiss.

Rangers had the upper hand offering more money on a one off payment for the loan and offering Champions League football. The 20-year-old Slovakian had an impressive world cup playing in all three group games against New Zealand, Paraguay & the Netherlands.

He has made 4 appearances for Manchester City, making his debut in the premiership against Bolton. In January this year he was loaned out for the remainder of the season at Bolton where he made 13 appearances but was mainly a substitute.

Weiss has already played at Ibrox as he made a substitute appearance in a friendly last year. He came on for Brazilian Robinho for the last 10 minutes but couldn't stop Rangers winning 3-2.
