Nieto "Rangers are the most popular team here in Scotland"

Rangers new signing Federico Nieto has said that he has joined the most popular team in Scotland but we all knew that already. Not only are we the most popular Federico but we are the most successful and the current champions.

Nieto told the Official Rangers site �I'm really happy to have signed For Rangers; I know Rangers are the most popular team here in Scotland and one of the greatest teams in Europe�.

When asked what he knew of Rangers he knew that they were always challenging here and mostly winning and were in his opinion one of Europe 's big sides. Former Rangers stars such as Amato and Caniggia had made him proud to sign for a club that they had played for.

Nieto hopes to emulate his fellow countrymen at Ibrox and do even better things. Nieto says he has also joined to improve as a player as he knows this is a place to grow as a player and become a great professional.

Nieto rates himself as a strong player who just loves to score. He is 6 ft 2 in and is an out and out striker. Many fans have said we have lacked this type of striker and Nieto could be a massive signing for Rangers. He has a very good goal record for the amount of games played and with his season only ending a short time ago he is still in first team condition which the other players are lacking at this time.

Alex McLeish believes if Rangers hadn't signed him one of the big two Argentinian sides would have and in the not to distant future be sold in Europe for around 10 million dollars. Rangers have a 5 year contract deal in January waiting for the youngster but he'll have to prove his worth in 6 months.
