Thanks Motherwell
Well I said that Motherwell would have the final say and they did. Celtic fans had been celebrating their 40 th league win more than once this season. After they won at Ibrox they said it was all over. Once the gab had been cut back to 2 points and Celtic beat Hearts it was again all over
Terry Butcher had feared for his side after being beaten 4-1 by Rangers and having most key players out injured or suspended for the visit of the tatty munchers. Motherwell was the only team in the top half of the league not to beat Celtic. Celtic fans were more than confident that it would stay like this and after Chris Sutton put them in front this afternoon their minds hadn't changed.
87 th Minute and the Hoops were beginning to look forward to the Title Celebrations but Motherwell's Scott McDonald had other ideas as he curled the ball into the Celtic net and Fir Park went crazy. Anyone would have thought Motherwell had been playing for the Title and Terry Butcher looked more than happy that his side had handed the title to his old team.
90 Minutes played and 3 added on could Celtic get one back? Hell no. Yet again Scott McDonald scored and the exodus of Celtic fans out of Fir Park started. Around about the same time Easter Road exploded in celebration and a pitch invasion showed how much this title meant to the travelling bears.
Yet again Rangers win the title on the last day of the season and thousands of Celtic fans go back into hiding.
A Personal message from rangers.co.uk to Scott McDonald and Motherwell FC "Thanks Lads we knew you hated Celtic too"
